TERMS OF SERVICE (DRAFT)
ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS
By using Traffic Cameras, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the service.
DESCRIPTION OF SERVICE
Traffic Cameras aggregates publicly available information about traffic and photo-enforcement camera locations (red light, speed, school zone, work zone) and ALPR/surveillance camera locations from government sources and open community mapping projects (including OpenStreetMap contributors and the DeFlock project, used and attributed under the Open Database License), and provides map-based and conversational (AI chat) access to that information. Some locations are populated or refreshed using an automated research process that queries public web sources; that data is labeled with its source and last-verified date.
NOT LEGAL ADVICE; NOT A GUARANTEE AGAINST CITATION Traffic Cameras is an informational tool. It does not provide legal advice, and using it is not a guarantee you will avoid a traffic citation or any other legal consequence. Camera programs change; our data can be incomplete, outdated, or wrong. Always obey posted traffic control devices, speed limits, and applicable law regardless of what this app shows.
ACCEPTABLE USE
You agree not to:
- Use the service to stalk, harass, or surveil a specific individual;
- Scrape, bulk-download, or republish our aggregated database for a competing commercial
product without permission;
- Interfere with or attempt to circumvent the service's security or rate limits;
- Submit false camera reports or corrections in bad faith.
USER SUBMISSIONS
Submitting a correction or new camera report grants us a license to use, store, and display it (labeled "community reported" unless verified against an official source). Don't submit anything you don't have the right to share.
THIRD-PARTY DATA AND ATTRIBUTION
Portions of the map data are © OpenStreetMap contributors and the DeFlock project, available under the Open Database License (ODbL); portions of work-zone data are provided under the USDOT Work Zone Data Exchange (WZDx) specification (public domain, CC0). Attribution is provided in-app as required.
DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTIES
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE.
LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, Traffic Cameras IS NOT LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, INCLUDING ANY TRAFFIC
CITATION, FINE, OR LEGAL PROCEEDING.
INDEMNIFICATION
You agree to indemnify Traffic Cameras against claims arising from your misuse of the service or violation of these terms.
